Beger Partners with 60 Real Estate Allies to Announce Net Zero Mission and Launch Paint CO2Cal, Thailand's First Carbon Footprint Calculation App for Building Paints, Emphasizing Sustainable Business Development with Green Innovations
According to the report "The 2024 Global Status Report for Buildings and Construction" by UNEP, greenhouse gas emissions from the construction sector account for one-fifth of global emissions. Furthermore, in 2022, building construction consumed over 34% of global energy, with carbon dioxide emissions exceeding 37% in the same year. Given these risks, if the business sector does not adapt quickly, global temperatures are likely to rise, as predicted by the United Nations. For Beger, a leader in environmentally friendly paint innovation for over six decades, the commitment to developing and promoting the use of eco-friendly products continues under the concept of "Eco-Wellness Innovation," aiming to reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and collaborate with partners and stakeholders across all sectors to drive change and transition towards sustainable business practices throughout the supply chain. In light of this, the company organized the "Future WE, Future WORLD" event to officially announce the "Net Zero Mission" alongside over 60 real estate partners and awarded certificates to developers. The event also featured executives from leading companies in the real estate sector sharing their visions, and the launch of "Paint CO2Cal," the first app in Thailand for calculating the carbon footprint of building paints, outlining the direction for creating a low-carbon society in Thailand.

Dr. Worawat Chaiyosburan, CEO of Beger Group, stated that the "Future WE, Future WORLD" event is being held for the first time with the significant goal of creating awareness, understanding, and important information for partners regarding reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the industry through products developed from Beger's innovations under the "Eco-Wellness Innovation" framework to create environmentally friendly paints and foster livable spaces for everyone. Recently, we collaborated with Mahidol University to develop "Paint CO2Cal," an application that can calculate the carbon footprint from using over 1,200 shades of Beger Cool paints, marking the first in the Thai building paint industry, creating a new dimension for the industry and responding to the transition in business aligned with global goals.

Dr. Worawat further mentioned that during the event, over 60 real estate partners were invited to jointly declare their commitment to the "Net Zero Mission," with representatives from 10 real estate companies sharing their visions and trends for sustainable business transitions. Additionally, the “Carbon Footprint” symbol was awarded to partners driving their businesses towards sustainability, aiming to create models and inspire the business network to participate in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through environmentally friendly products. In the past, Beger established the "Net Zero Innovation & Solution Center" to serve as a hub for real estate developers and stakeholders in the construction industry to develop prototype projects for low-carbon businesses.

Importantly, this event is recognized as the first Net Zero Event in Thailand, certified by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization). This aligns with Beger's vision of being a leader in "eco-friendly paint innovation," and we believe this platform will be a crucial starting point and connection for advancing towards the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Mr. Pongcherd Jamikornkul, Managing Director of Beger Group, stated that under the strategy "Paint Beger, Paint The World Green," Beger continues to develop products alongside environmental conservation. One widely recognized product, "Beger Cool," serves as an important case study in researching and developing the best technology to deliver innovative house paints that promote well-being in living spaces and is a significant starting point for transitioning the industry towards creating "Green Buildings" in the business supply chain.
Moving forward, the business plan will focus on developing environmentally friendly innovative products while leveraging technology to promote and support customers, partners, and business allies in reducing carbon footprints in their operations. In terms of market expansion, we are preparing to create new experiences in eco-friendly innovative paint products, enhance brand awareness to reach all target customers, and increase distribution channels to ensure Beger plays a crucial role in achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across all business supply chains sustainably, in line with Beger's important mission to be a leader in environmentally conscious paint innovation," Mr. Pongcherd added.
